JOINING CRITERIA

According to the Society’s Rules you may become a member if you are one of the following:

  • a firm (including a sole practitioner) carrying on the practice of architecture in New Zealand and a practice member of Te Kāhui Whaihanga New Zealand Institute of Architects; or
  • a company carrying on the practice of architecture in New Zealand and a practice member of Te Kāhui Whaihanga New Zealand Institute of Architects; or
  • an individual member of Te Kāhui Whaihanga New Zealand Institute of Architects holding a current Practicing Certificate of Registration from the New Zealand Registered Architects Board.

You can apply to become an associate member if you are:

  • a person who in the opinion of the Board should by reason of their association or connection with the practice of architecture or the building industry be a member of the Society. For example a member of Architectural Designers NZ

Once your application has been approved by the Board at its next meeting you will be required to pay the sum of $50.00 although you can also pay this at the time of application. Following approval you will be given access to the members area. Note that you can also apply for insurance prior to membership approval by contacting Aon directly.
